About Nueva Vida
Nueva Vida is a Christian nonprofit organization serving children with disabilities and their families in Santa María de Jesús, Guatemala. Through education, therapy, family support, and community partnerships, we work to create opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive.
We're looking for an outgoing, motivated, and fully bilingual (English/Spanish) Development & Partnerships Officer to help expand Nueva Vida's network of supporters and partners in Guatemala.
This role focuses primarily on identifying, approaching, and building relationships with potential donors, churches, ministries, missionaries, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and other community partners, particularly in Antigua Guatemala and the surrounding area.
As a new position within Nueva Vida, we're looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys meeting people, and is comfortable creating opportunities for connection rather than waiting for them to come along. The person hired will work closely with our Co-Executive Director of Development to help establish and refine our approach to local outreach and partnership development.
Outreach & Partnership Development
Research and identify potential donors, churches, ministries, businesses, and other partners.
Proactively reach out to new contacts, arrange introductory meetings, and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Represent Nueva Vida at networking events, church gatherings, community activities, and meetings throughout the Antigua area.
Develop and maintain relationships with individuals and organizations interested in supporting Nueva Vida's mission.
Visits & Relationship Building
Coordinate and host visits to Nueva Vida's centre in Santa María de Jesús.
Communicate Nueva Vida's mission, programs, and impact to visitors in both English and Spanish.
Provide interpretation during meetings and visits as needed.
Assist with visitor transportation using Nueva Vida's shared ministry vehicle when necessary.
Follow-Up & Coordination
Maintain organized records of contacts, meetings, and partnership opportunities.
Follow up with potential partners and existing supporters.
Assist with donor communication, coordination, and administrative tasks.
Work with the Co-Executive Director of Development to develop an organized and sustainable approach to outreach and partnership building.
We're looking for someone who:
Is fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Is outgoing, personable, and genuinely enjoys meeting new people.
Takes initiative, works independently, and is comfortable reaching out to people they haven't met before.
Is organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple relationships and follow-up tasks.
Is comfortable representing Nueva Vida in professional, community, and faith-based settings.
Has a valid driver's licence and legal authorization to work in Guatemala.
Is enthusiastic about Nueva Vida's Christian mission and serving children with disabilities and their families.
A university degree and previous experience in nonprofit work, outreach, fundraising, or partnership development are preferred, but not required. Relevant volunteer experience is also welcome.
This is a flexible, hybrid position of 20 hours per week, based in the Antigua Guatemala area.
The role requires regular in-person meetings, networking activities, and visits to our centre in Santa María de Jesús, generally during weekday working hours. Other responsibilities, including research, planning, communication, and administrative tasks, can be completed remotely on a flexible schedule.
Occasional evening or weekend commitments may be required, approximately once per month, and would be included within the regular weekly hours.
The Development & Partnerships Officer will report directly to the Co-Executive Director of Development and collaborate with Nueva Vida's Guatemala-based leadership team.
